Home Escape Plan
Plan ahead so you can help keep your family safe in case of a fire. Use the example below and follow these steps to help make your own home escape plan.
- Make sure there is a smoke alarm outside every sleeping area. Draw your smoke alarms on your plan.
- You should have two ways out of each room. Any door or window you plan to use as an exit should open easily. Draw your two ways out.
- Never try to hide from smoke or fire. Have one safe meeting place for your whole family. Mark it on your plan.
- Never return to a burning home once you're out.
- Remember to practice, practice, practice!!!

Parents, practice your home escape plan at least twice each year.
